Recently Hot Press reported that there was to be a second date added for Jimmy MacCarthy at Dublin’s National Concert Hall.
The first concert on October 14th has sold out, but now there is a new show announced for the 22nd of the same month.
Today on the National Concert Hall’s website the second date was listed.
Tickets, which are priced at €35, €42.50 and €49.50 go on sale this Monday (May 25th) at 10am, the same date the Macroom-born songwriter is set to play the first of four sold out gigs at the White Horse in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.
This concert, along with the earlier National Concert Hall show and the two Cork Opera House gigs (all of which have sold out) coincide with the upcoming re-release of Jimmy MacCarthy’s debut album ‘The Song of the Singing Horseman’, which will have vocals re-recorded for two tracks ‘No Frontiers’ and ‘Bright Blue Rose’ with the original engineer Brian Masterson.
The release date is not yet known, although it is expected to be available from late September to early October.
The concerts will include songs from that album in addition to ‘The Contender’, ‘As I Leave Behind Neidin’ and ‘Roll On The Lee’.
